FORGIVEness

Written last September 12, 2005

Why is it so hard to forgive someone???
Can you forgive and forget without even asking for it?
How long it will take to grant forgiveness?
How many times will you forgive??
Its a funny thing, last saturday i posted about what i feel to a certain person. and when i attended the mass the next day, i was suprised when the homily tackled about forgiveness. i told to myself, "what’s this? is it just a coincidence??" but then i felt happy coz, @ least, the HIGHNESS guided me on what should i do about that. HE reminded me once more. I smiled while im listening to the sermon. specially to this part:
There are 3 responses that we usually do when someone did something against us:
1: RAMBO RESPONSE - this is the first thing that comes to your mind when we have enemy…. to REVENGE, RETALIATE, get PAYBACK, or whatever you call it. We want to get even.
2. BUZZ RESPONSE - you may pretend that you already forgive, but you do something in return, you spread bad gossip that you know about him/her. And when is its already spread out, you feel quite happy coz you think you’re quits for the damage he/she had done.
3. BLUE EYES RESPONSE - you may say OK, LET’S FORGET IT. But then, you also try to forget the person. You start ignoring him, you dont feel like to meet his/her eyes when you cross your way or when you see each other in one gathering. Its not only the situation you forget.. but the involved person too.
The answer to the last question is…… SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN. Meaning, forgiveness has no limit. You can ask and grant it as much as you want. But of course, it is also depends on how much the damage is done. It may takes time… but one thing for sure, if you just open your heart.. and your mind too.., forgiving is not that hard to do.
OK….. sabi mo eh. :)
