Why Bible has so MANY Versions?

When I had a discussion with my colleague who is Muslim, about the bible, he asked me why christian bible has so many versions? Compare to Muslim which is only one. I didn't answered, for honestly, I only knew few and KJV is the most popular among them all.

God is really good because last Friday, it is one of the topic in our Friday service. Our guest pastor explained it in a very simple way. He compared it to banana. Banana as we all know has many types. But no matter what type is it.... it is still BANANA. It may have a little distinction in taste, shape and form... it is still BANANA. Same thing with the bible. It has different translations but it is still BIBLE which contains words of God.. The reason why is to deliver the message in accordance to whom may read it, in able to understand or grasp the meaning of it. This was demonstrated by our guest pastor in introduction of his preaching. It is only one verse: Job  8:7 and he represented it by showing different translations. By doing this, it helped us to fully understand the verse.
